About Carmen
Carmen van Vilsteren studied at TU Delft and spent over eleven years at Philips developing cardiovascular imaging systems now used in hospitals worldwide every second of every day.
She moved into the startup world seeking direct impact, held CEO and board roles across life sciences and health, co-founded MicroSure, and helped shape the Dutch innovation ecosystem through Health~Holland. Carmen is actively investing, with a clear focus on companies led by female CEOs.
She received the Fe+male Tech Heroes Award and actively champions more diversity, inclusion, and equal access to capital within the technology sector. She is also co-author of a Lancet publication on why investing in women's health is a societal imperative.
